Biotech students visited National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal

An educational visit was organized for M.Sc. Biotechnology students by Department of Biotechnology, CCT Landran to National Dairy Research Institute (NDRI), Karnal. 30 students along with 2 faculty members visited NDRI Karnal, on Saturday 25 January, 2020. Students got an opportunity to visit the exhibition unit of the division where dairy farmers, trainees etc. are educated from time to time regarding scientific dairy husbandry Practices. It also serves as live laboratory for under graduate and post graduate students and research work of the institute. The exhibition unit has a “Dairy Museum” for providing all the scientific information of the institute to the various visitors coming across the country. Later students visited “Genomics and proteomics” lab and explored various research facilities like Western blotting, Isoelectrophoresis and Akta prime a high pressure liquid chromatography. This division has research laboratory facilities to cater embryo culture, protein and molecular studies. This learning visit generated zeal of research amongst the students and also got a chance to explore career opportunities in the field of Dairy Technology.
