Visit at Verka plant organized by Biotechnology Department CCT

Industrial visit to verka plant, Chandigarh was organized by Department of Biotechnology, CCT landran on 11-09-2019 to enrich the students knowledge about the functioning and operation of a diary industry. Verka is a nationwide popular brand of dairy products. Their major production areas are UHT milk for army, ice-cream, butter, ghee and mango juice. This educational tour has enhanced the student’s information about food microbiology. Pasteurization, food processing, effluent treatment plant and packaging sections were visited by students under the guidance of Verka technical staff. At the end of the session students relished the ice-cream offered by the company. This session has made students aware about the job profiles available in dairy industry.
